These movies are very emotion inducing and are based on romance. They target teenage girls, and adult females.

Romantic Comedies typically have two main characters. Prior to a more accepting society it was a Male and Female lead, but now any gender fits the part. A love story is the main idea, but these stories also consist of quite a few obstacles in the relationships.

One example of these movies is How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days. In How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days Andie Anderson wrote a how to column for a popular magazine, but she seeked to write about bigger things, so she was challenged to write an article about losing a guy in 10 days. Benjamin Barry had an opposite challenge to make a girl fall in love with him in 10 days. The major climax in the movie was that they did fall in love, but they found out about each other's challenges.

Love is a major aspect of these movies and they always have a good ending. Comedy is also involved in these due to the different small jokes.

One example is Friends With Benefits, It has plenty of comedy scenes and irony. The inside jokes add comedy.

All romance comedies follow the same plot of a couple that usually originates as friends and then forms into feelings that “messes up the friendship” but then they end up together. This tends to attract people seeking romance or that just enjoy.

These are filmed in big cities like New York and Los Angeles to make it seem like a modern day relationship. They usually begin with an establishing shot of a big city. This makes it appealing to people who dream to live in these cities. These movies are almost like realistic fairy tales. They also have scenes in nice apartments, even when the characters are portrayed as middle class.

A lot of two shots, mid shots and long shots are used to show the characters. These movies usually contain a lot of movement. Dialogue is a big part of these movies because that also develops the comedy in these movies.

These movies can be marketed through fashion, because costume designs are a big aspect of them. Another way they are marketed is through trailers, and social media post about the movie by the main actors. These actors are usually popular with big fan bases. This is good marketing for the teenage aspect of the fan bases.
